Winter Wonderland on Mars

Over the last 20 years snow has been detected by NASA on Mars.

Mars has a 96% carbon dioxide atmosphere, with the rest consisting of mainly nitrogen and argon. 25-30% of Mars’ carbon dioxide atmosphere is frozen at its poles.

When the spring thaw comes, the solid carbon dioxide sublimes producing wind speeds of up to 250mph (400 km/h) at the Martian poles.
