ICG Fluorescence Luminescence Testing using Techcomp FL970
Introduction
The ICG (Indocyanine Green) is the most widely used fluorescence medical dye for testing liver dysfunction. Since it is not absorbed by the intestinal mucous membrane, the toxicity has been classified as low and it has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical use since 1959.
Sample and Apparatus
Sample: ICG (Indocyanine green)
Equipment : Techcomp FL970 fluorescence spectrophotometer
Parameter and result
Parameter: Wavelength scan mode (EX scan/ EM scan); scan speed 240nm/min sampling interval: 1nm; EX slit: 5nm; EM slit : 5nm, PMT: 700.

Result:
Techcomp FL970 has a wavelength range of 200nm – 900nm and therefore can easily detect the strong Excitation and Emission peaks of the ICG solution at 750 nm and 805 nm respectively.
The Techcomp FL970 can also be used for testing of Cyanine Dyes, Phthalocyanine as well as Chlorophyll.
